Disney Planning On A New Star Wars Sequel Trilogy

Star Wars is ready to give the fans a new sequel trilogy. According to reports, a new trilogy is already in the making. Here’s all you need to know about it.

Sequel Trilogy?

Star Wars and Disney+ have agreed to make an all new sequel trilogy for the world. It is said that the new trilogy will take from Star Wars: Episode XI, Return of The Jedi left. Meaning it is set for almost 30 years after that episode – which aired first in 1983. Disney has been quite satisfied with how the sequel department is going in perspective of Star Wars. The Mandalorian did surprisingly good and both parties jumped onto the bandwagon of another sequel imminently. One good thing that Star Wars did was to separate the contentious sequel trilogy from the book of Boba Fett. They called it the New Republic Era.

The separation has allowed Disney to gradually work towards another sequel trilogy. The emphasis have been put on to prepare the fans for a story they always wanted but it was never on the cards.

This rejuvenation allowed the sequel trilogies to stay distant from other related spin-offs. For instance, The Mandalorian. So that the fans don’t confuse things up between the both. I mean yes it might cover and hint towards some events happening in the trilogy but most of it will be authentic trilogy stuff. However, the spin-offs are kept to be discussed separately from the trilogies.

Expectations Of A Crossover

The fans should be ready for a new crossover. The world has already seen Star Wars making crossovers, like in The Mandalorian. Fans witnessed how the show brought back Ahsoka Tano and Temuera Morrison’s Boba Fett. These crossovers allowed Star Wars to make way for two new series. Ahsoka and The Book of Boba Fett.

These crossovers might also further crossover into each others stories. However mostly, crossovers create different shows and spin-offs. So its highly anticipated that Lucasfilm will be direly working towards a few new movies and shows for these characters. And that might include a sequel trilogy as well.

Ahsoka hasn’t been released yet, Mandalorian is no way near its end right now and Boba Fett is in the Daimyo of Tatooine – guaranteed second season. So its plausible to contemplate that a new trilogy must be released that will showcase all of these characters on a single screen.

Homecoming Of The Old Crew?

Well you already must know by now that the new trilogy will be kept separate from the actual sequel trilogy, so its possible for them to not return. The old gang consisting of obviously, Luke Skywalker, Leia, Chewie, Lando and Han. The only expected character to be shown in the new trilogy can be Luke Skywalker. As the franchise already has been introducing him a lot recently.

The golden squad is probably too old to get starred in this new era. Harrison Ford doesn’t even seem willing to play Han again. The fans might get sad but there might be something to look forward to. Din Djarin, Boba Fett and Ahsoka will be the primary concern of Disney and Lucasfilm because they share a connection. So this might start a new unexpected era.
