Arsenal Looking To Offload Pepe In Hopes For A New Star Player

Arsenal battled for getting into Premier League’s top four last season persistently. Unfortunately, they failed to qualify for UCL football but it seems their looking to build a strong foundation this season. Although, there might be some hurdles to go through this summer first.

Arsenal has had a pretty rough patch since their legendary gaffer, Arsene Wenger left. Failed signings, weak sporting projects and disputes within the dressing room led to all of this. However, they seem rather keen on making a difference this season under Mikel Arteta. Thus, Nicolas Pepe’s (their record signing) unconvincing run of form worries them a lot.

Nicolas Pepe earns a £140,000 weekly wage and that makes him one of the most expensive players at the club. Spending such significant amount on a player who produces significantly lower than expected worries the North London club. They are reportedly looking for his replacement this summer. He just made five starts last season in the Premiership.

Failed Transfers

Whilst projecting a perfect replacement for Nicolas Pepe, the Arsenal board and Mikel Arteta followed Leeds’ Raphinha’s entourage for quite a lot of time. However, the deal fell and Raphinha chose FC Barcelona over the Gunners. Now Arsenal and Mikel are left with minimal time to find a decent winger before the transfer window closes. They have already completed the signing of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City and he’s even started scoring goals for them. He has scored 3 goals for them in his first two games for the club in Pre-Season matches. 3 days ago Fabrizo confirmed another deal between Manchester City and Arsenal for Oleksander Zinchenko. The Ukrainian left-back seems to have completed his move to North London successfully.

Now the most important aspect is to offload Nicolas Pepe’s gigantic wage bill. Some tier 1 sources revealed that Sevilla are deeply interested in getting the Ivorian on board but nothing has been agreed between the two clubs yet. Before the transfer window was about start, reports circulated how fond are Arsenal of their ex player Serge Gnabry. Nonetheless, Serge Gnabry just recently accepted a contract extension with his current club FC Bayern Munich. Ending hopes of fans who were trying to welcome him back to North London.

Leroy Sane Homecoming To Premiership?

Although, Gnabry’s teammate, Leroy Sane is a potential transfer target for Arsenal. Even Bild reported that the deal wouldn’t cost Arsenal a significant amount of money. Around €70 million are expected to be accepted by the German giants for Sane. He even has experience regarding the toughness of Premier League. He was a Manchester City star until he came in contact with one of the worst injuries a football player can suffer. The Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) in the knee. A rumour goes around that any player who contracts this injury never comes back the same physically. Coming back to the topic, Sane would be the perfect pick for Arsenal in these dire times. Sane clearly knows how to hit double figures in goals and assists. He’s fast, versatile, visionary and agile. Even Bayern are willing to listen to decent offers for him this summer.

Pepe’s departure is unfortunately the most desirable aspect of this summer for the Arsenal club and their fans. Although getting in Sane for Pepe would be a great deal to be fair.
